Hello,
I have an IBM ThinkCentre with a SoundMAX Sound Card. I want to play old DOS-Games. Where do I get the DOS-Drivers for this SoundMAX (I scanned the net, but I did not get anything). Please help. Christian |

MS-DOS didn't use sound drivers. Each game had it's own code that talked the sound card directly. If you're trying to play MS-DOS games under Windows XP or newer, the usual suggestion is to use DOSBox: http://www.dosbox.com An alternative is to use the MS-DOS emulator built-in Windows, along with VDMSound which provides much better sound card emulation. Hello,
I have some questions: Is the SoundMAX compatible with the Soundblaster? If so, how do I set the BLASTER-variable to the right value? Greetings Christian "Ross Ridge" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... I bought a Dell which comes with integrated SoundMax Digital soundcard. The computer can play audio without speakers or headphones, but the volume is very low. My old PC’s soundcard (Soundblaster) has treble and bass options, which make the audio sound much better. This SoundMax card doesn’t have these options (under Windows’ volume controls)
I’ve googled this lousy soundcard, and there appears to be some sort of SoundMax Control Panel, which I hope may have more advanced options. But I have the latest driver, and there’s still no control panel. Does anyone have any tips how to improve the sound? Do I have to buy a$$kickin speakers? Like for listening to the songs of Idol3, on my computer the songs sound worse than on my work computer. _______________________________________________ Want to get-on Google's first page and loads of traffic to your website?
